Recently, our Office received a Decision on the Request for Invalidation for a patent related to tap issued by the Patent Reexamination Board of the State Intellectual Property Office (PRB) in favor of our client. The concerned patent was totally declared invalid by the Patent Reexamination Board for the absence of inventive step of the claims.

When preparing for the invalidation request, the attorneys in our Office immediately searched out the highly-relevant prior arts according to the background provided by the client, and made a careful study on the concerned patent and the prior arts to figure out the defects of the concerned patent in clarity, inventive steps, and new matter issue, etc. Thanks to the comprehensive preparation and excellent performance in the processes such as request for invalidation and oral hearing, the Patent Reexamination Board agreed with our attorneys in the final invalidation decision and held that all claims of the concerned patent lack inventive steps with respect to the prior arts. Thus, an invalidation decision is made, which is significantly advantageous to our client.
