Dates of Issue of the Official Trademark Gazette
Moved One Day Ahead yet the Opposition
Deadlines Remain Unchanged

In accordance with relevant provisions of the General Principles of Civil Code and the Civil Procedure Law concerning the time limit, the opposition term is defined as three months, which is counted starting from the date following the issue of the official Trademark Gazette. In order to comply with the provisions, the Trademark Office has rectified the dates of publishing the Trademark Gazette. Specifically, from the volume No. 1096 published on November 27, 2007 inclusive, China Trademark Office starts to issue the Trademark Gazette on the 6th, 13th, 20th and 27th of each month, respectively, as opposed to previously on the 7th, 14th, 21st and 28th. However, each of the four opposition deadlines in a month remains unchanged, which is still the 6th, 13th, 20th and 27th in each month. Accordingly, the date of publication of trademark registration and the duration of validity of exclusive right to use a trademark remain unchanged too.
