Nearly 20,000 Trademark Violations Handled by AICs in First Half




According to the report issued by the State Administration for Industry and Commerce, in the first half of 2007, the Administration of Industry and Commerce at all levels nationwide dealt with 18,973 cases of trademark infringement, up 0.43% year on year, among which 15,458 involved domestic parties only, up 0.18%; 3,515 are related to foreign parties, up 1.53%.

A total of 14,296 trademark violations were registered and dealt with, up 533 cases or 3.87% compared with the same period last year. The number of trademark infringement and counterfeit kept going up while the number of general trademark violations kept declining. A total of 15,959 cases of trademark infringement and counterfeit were handled, up 466 cases or 3.01%. 3,014 cases of general trademark offence were handled, down 385 cases or 11.33%.
