The Revised Draft of Amendments to Patent Law was Submitted to
the State Council for Review

The revised draft of the third amendments to the patent law was reported to the State Council at the beginning of January 2007.

The patent law in effective was promulgated on April 1, 1985 and was amended two times in 1992 and 2000 respectively.

At the beginning of November 2006, State Intellectual Property Office official lodged a proposal to the Legislative Affairs Office of the State Council and suggested that the third amendments to the patent law should be listed into the 2007 legislation plan.

According to the provisions of the constitution law and legislation law in China, the third amendments to the patent law shall be reviewed by the State Council and the Standing Committee of National People's Congress.
